Duffel Bag Bettor Alert

As Patrick Everson of Covers reported: The Duffel Bag Bettor was back in action Thursday night at MGM on the Wake Forest-NC State game. He made a low six-figure straight bet on the Wolfpack, buying down from -18 to -17.5. Alas, NC State lost 27-23.

Duffel Bag Bettor also put $50,000 on a 2-team parlay of Buffalo (already in) and Michigan -38.

The Worst Bad Beat of All Time!?

Put this one in a very special edition of "Win Some/Lose Some."

Pauly Howard tells the story about the time his significant other hit a multimillion-dollar jackpot at a Vegas casino. Almost as good as the story itself: Follow The Money co-host Mitch Moss’ reaction to the fact believe Pauly is actually telling the story on the air. It all starts with a discussion about hotel security after winning big bets.

The story behind the SuperContest contenders

It’s usually hard to get these guys to talk until there is a winner, but Dave Tuley tracked down the Westgate SuperContest contenders who led the football handicapping competition after Week 8 with records of 32-8 (80%). Will they reveal the secrets to their success?

Ron Flatter’s Horse Racing report . . .

Will Accelerate or Justify be the 2018 Horse of the Year? It is a prime topic of discussion from last week’s Breeders’ Cup in Louisville on The Ron Flatter Racing Pod. Turf writer John Cherwa of the Los Angeles Times co-hosts, offers his thoughts about the just-completed Breeders’ Cup and tells how digital media have changed the way he covers the sport. Trainer John Sadler offers his point of view on Accelerate’s season that culminated in a Breeders’ Cup Classic victory that was his first in 45 tries. The new feature “Racehorses by the Letters” names the best horse that had a name beginning with the letter “A.”

One election may be over. But another voting debate has only just started. Should Accelerate or Winx be the 2018 Horse of the Year? It’s all in Ron’s column.
