How to watch early-season college hoops
Jeff Fogle writes . . .
Tonight’s NIT Season Tip-Off semifinals in New York are a reminder of the great college basketball “connectivity” handicappers can use to their advantage.
Those matchups (ESPN2, 5 and 7:30 p.m. ET) are #5 Tennessee of the SEC vs. Louisville of the ACC, and #2 Kansas of the Big 12 vs. Marquette of the Big East.
As Jeff points out, whether it’s the NIT or the Maui Invitational, these neutral-court showcases are ideal for evaluating tournament potential. Read on to get the questions to ask yourself during the NIT.
Phil vs. Tiger: Let there be hype
VSiN’s Matt Youmans weighs in on the matchup with Brent on My Guys in the Desert. Matt already has made his bet.
"In the last three days, I might have seen one ticket." SuperBook’s Jeff Sherman says the public betting interest in the Tiger/Phil exhibition is non-existent.
ESPN’s Bob Harig reports on the press conference to promote the event, which will include a $200,000 side bet on the first hole.
Wes Reynolds handicaps the match in this week’s Point Spread Weekly, out later today.
