NFL Week 10 Storylines

It hasn’t been completely smooth sailing around the NFL this season on the COVID front, but the last two weeks have really been affected by the virus. The Steelers will be without their starting QB Ben Roethlisberger just one week after the Packers were missing Aaron Rodgers. Big Ben’s positive COVID test came down on Saturday night, just hours after the Steelers were announced as the most popular team in the Circa Survivor.

The Steelers were dropping as a favorite throughout the week from -9 to the -8 range, but now the line has been adjusted down to -6 with Mason Rudolph getting the start. There are some -6.5s out there still as well.

The Cleveland Browns have also been hit by COVID, as running back Nick Chubb and RB/WR Demetric Felton at home with positive tests. The Denver Broncos will be missing offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur and backup QB Drew Lock due to COVID.

Other players on the COVID list include Cowboys kicker Greg Zuerlein and VIkings safety Harrison Smith.

The Packers will officially have Rodgers back when they take the field agianst the Seahawks. Green Bay expected to have him back, but this line has dropped from -5 to -3.5 with Russell Wilson back for the visitors from Seattle.

Along with COVID protocols and positive tests, we have several key injuries as well. Kyler Murray is unlikely to play, which means more Colt McCoy for the Cardinals. The Broncos are missing three offensive linemen. The Titans put Julio Jones on IR. Alvin Kamara is out for the Saints. The Patriots will also be missing a running back in Damien Harris. The Bills will be without Tremaine Edmunds.

There are a handful of bad-weather games this week. The Lions and Steelers is one of those games with tough conditions, as gusty winds and mixed precipitation are in the forecast. That could be a bad sign for Jared Goff, who has historically struggled in the cold and wet weather.

Wind and maybe a mix of rain and snow are also likely in Green Bay for the returning QBs in Rodgers and Wilson. We’ll also see some windy conditions in Nashville and Denver.
