Elimination Games in NBA & NHL Playoffs on Thursday

Home Teams in Win or Go Home Mode on Hardwood
Home teams have won every game in the two series taking place on Thursday. If that happens again, then we’ll have a Game 7. If it doesn’t, then one or both of the 76ers and Mavericks will be finished for the season. The Heat and Suns both rebounded for nice Game 5 wins to put their opponents on the brink of elimination. We haven’t really had any close games between these teams thus far, so some drama would be nice on Thursday.

Season on the Line in All Four NHL Games
The biggest story on Thursday night is undoubtedly the Maple Leafs with a chance to knock out the Lightning. Toronto hasn’t won a playoff series since 2004 and can end that long, miserable drought with a Game 6 win in Tampa Bay. The others in line to advance are the Hurricanes, Blues and Kings, with the latter two on home ice with a chance to pull off series upsets. Los Angeles over Edmonton would be the bigger of the two shockers.

Andy MacNeil: Resident NHL expert Andy MacNeil shares his thoughts on the Game 5s with best bets and a market report. READ MORE
